EXO’s Showtime must really be relying on EXO’s fandom power to create substantial viewer ratings because the show is really about nothing. It’s literally just the boys doing nothing in particular which is totally amusing for us hardcore fans, but is probably pretty boring for the average audience. There’s nothing to hook new viewers with. If you’re not already an EXO fan there is no entertainment value in it. Obviously it’s not meant to catch new viewers and create new fans. It’s clearly a show meant exclusively for EXO’s existing fans to enjoy.

I mean let’s be honest… the boys sitting around a table answering random questions from their fans, hanging out in their free time, shopping for birthday presents… no challenges, no competitions (unless you count that fried chicken eating contest)… there’s not much going on here to catch the eye of an ordinary non-EXO fan. So say thank you, because the show is basically a present for the fandom and that’s it.
